Heavy snows possible in far corner of Northeast Ohio, western Pennsylvania

While the Greater Akron area isn't expected to see as much impact from the coming snows, anyone traveling to the far northeast of Ohio or northwest Pennsylvania could see more than a foot of snow in places.

Those traveling to the far end of Northeast Ohio or Northwestern Pennsylvania may hit heavy snows tonight through early Saturday morning.

While Summit, Portage and Medina counties are expected to get less than an inch of snow during this time, parts of Ashtabula County and areas near Lake Erie could see up to a foot or more of snow, according to the National Weather Service.

More snow is possible across the area Sunday through Tuesday.

Temperatures are expected to reach around 42 degrees today in the Greater Akron area, with a 70% chance of showers, according to the National Weather Service. Snow showers are possible later in the day, mostly after 9 p.m. Less than a half an inch of new snow accumulation is expected.

According to the National Weather Service, Friday is expected to be colder, with a high of 33 degrees and a 40% chance of snow showers.

Friday night could see temperatures fall into the teens, with a low of 18 degrees expected and a 50% chance of snow. Saturday's high is expected to be 28 degrees, with a 30% chance of snow showers.
